Hi Petra, we wondered whether you could tell us a bit about career progression with Enterprise?
I'd love to! Well after I got my degree, I was determined to not only find a well-paid job, but a career working with customers and a good team of colleagues too. And as soon as I was interviewed at Enterprise I realised that I'd found exactly that. I discovered Enterprise's success is based on the company culture, which focuses on customer service, and lots of motivated, hard-working employees. And I felt that this was the place where my idea of a long-term career could be fulfilled.
I was one of the first German trainees on Enterprise's International Management Trainee programme, and when I went over to the US, Enterprise in Germany wasn't even established. And although the international experience was amazing, that wasn't what really made me pick Enterprise - it was the career prospects. I've had the chance to run my own profit centre as an entrepreneur and become part of the pioneering team who've managed to conquer the German market - and it's been exciting.
I have learnt a lot in the 10+ I've spent with Enterprise. Working with customers and employees and taking on more and more responsibility for the business, I've seen how worthwhile it can be to stretch one's limits, not give up and be rewarded with success. I wouldn't want to have missed a single experience. I think in the future I'd most like to see our market position in Germany expand even further. And in my position as Corporate Rental Manager, I am looking forward to using my knowledge of operations to strategically support this goal.
